a single sister in her 40s and her two single daughters were visiting my mom.

i would say her daughters are in their early 20s.

my mom got sleepy and we put her to bed but the three sisters stayed to finish their drinks..

@HappyDad, I am adding to the "hiatus" elder story. My dad saw him while he was working early one morning making a 'purchase' on a street corner. When my mom approached the CO about it, she was told, "If you tell anyone again about this you will be DF for slander and hearsay."

Another pioneer sister married a 'fine' MS brother who she found out later was convicted of child abuse. The body knew of this but didn't warn the sister. Later when she talked to the body about this they scolded her telling her she should have gotten to know the brother better before marrying him. When this 'fine' brother found out she went to the elders, he beat the crap out of her and threw her out of the house. This and many other things happened under that PO.

I was going through chemotherapy and lost some of my hair about 12 years ago. So, I started to shave my head to make it look more "presentable" in field service. At the next midweek meeting, I got pulled into the back room for some counsel about my shaved head. I was so stupid in thinking they were going to offer me assistance for what I was going through. Boy, I was dumb! After my next session of Chemo, I laid on the bathroom floor in a fetal position, sick as a dog, pondering how my shaved head was a distraction to the preaching work (Yeah, that was dripping with sarcasm).

Now, many years removed, I shave my head, wear a goatee, and don't care what those men have to say.

Hourly reports were nothing more than old-fashioned indulgences.
I may be imperfect and (God forbid) an employee, but I go to work 10 hours a month.

When I was a child I was taught the saying, "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words can never hurt me." At the time, I saw the sense of it. Words, being intangible, have no ability to inflict physical harm. Whenever another child said something mean to me, I would loudly recite the saying at them, using it like a magical incantation that would protect me from getting my feelings hurt. I usually said it with tears running down my cheeks.

As an adult, I've come to see that the saying is, like many things taught to children, a lie. The truth is that bones heal, while the damage done by words can last a lifetime. I bring it up here only to remind those who write here of the power they wield. And that is the power to wound with words or use those same words to heal.

So, how will you use your newfound power? Will you be the one who uses words to hurt? Or will you use them to heal? Having been a victim of verbal abuse, I certainly hope you will do the latter.

According to this study, a person can't recall memories until after 2.5 years. I say we just allow abortions until then just in case it's not the right fit for you. I mean, let's be real here, a 1 or 2 year old has no viability if the mother didn't care for it, feed and clothe it, or nurture it.

I never had a happy birthday this year 5/7

my wife had a hip replacement on june the 17th and while the op itself was apparently succesful ,she has had a reaction to the anesthetic ?

and has suffered delirium and is still in hospital with no apparent improvement.. its been very distressing for me to say the least.

sorry if i sound a bit morbid but i just had to share,.

Wow, I am so sorry. My dad after his first hip replacement had this happen. It took him over a month to get back to normal. It felt like an eternity to me. He didn't even know or remember who I was for a while. I hope and pray she recovers for you.
